The Festival began in 2008, attaching itself to the annual Stroud County Show and providing almost 20 stalls.
The Festival went it alone in 2010, around the bandstand and arboretum at Stratford Park and with funding from the BBC as one of their Springwatch events. Attracting nearly 3,000 visitors this festival was a great success.
Visitor numbers continued to grow and the number of organisations, groups and individuals taking part also grew to almost sixty in 2013. Visitors were coming, not just from the local area and the County but from further afield. In the Cotswold Tourism Awards in 2014 the Festival won the Bronze Sustainable Tourism Award.
